Student Parliament Elections 2020

Each year we hold elections for our Student Parliament, this election includes six voluntary Executive Officer Positions and eight voluntary Faculty Rep Positions. These members once elected, will work alongside the Presidential Team to take the lead on influencing the student experience.

The polls have closed.

Charities & Fundraising Officer

Your main duties include attending the Societies, Sports and Events Project Team, working alongside students to raise money for charitable causes, identifying local, national and international charities/campaigns that CitySA could get involved in and promoting voluntary and charitable opportunities to students

Creative Industries Faculty Rep (2 places)

To represent students views within the Creative Industries Faculty.

The role of the Faculty Rep is to represent the views of students within their Faculty at meetings of the Faculty Board Meetings and at Student Parliament. This is a fantastic opportunity that gives students the power and resources necessary to improve the learning experience for students. 

Time Commitment  

 4 Hours per week

 Full training, develop key skills, strong staff support, be part of a great team 

Responsibilities 

  • Gather feedback from Class Representatives in your Faculty – the Students’ Association will support you to do this 

  • Offer support and guidance to the Class Reps within your faculty through our Class Rep Forum, Class Rep Meetings and Class Rep Check ins 

  • Attendance at Faculty Boards – there are up to three meetings each year 

  • Attendance at Student Parliament throughout the year

To represent students views within the Education & Humanities Faculty.

Liberation Officer

Your main duties include are to attend the Diversity and Wellbeing Project Team, celebrate and promote the diversity of the college by helping to organise cultural events and liberation months and work to support liberation and peer-support groups upon demand, such as LGBTQ+, BME, Women’s, Disabled and Mature Student groups.

To represent students views within the Nautical & STEM Faculty.

The role of the Faculty Rep is to represent the views of students within their Faculty at meetings of the Faculty Board Meetings and at Student Parliament. This is a fantastic opportunity that gives students the power and resources necessary to improve the learning experience for students.

The Student Executive Officers play a crucial role making supporting the day to day activities of the Students' Association as well as representing the student Voice through their seats in Parliament.  This is a fantastic opportunity that gives students the power and resources necessary to improve the learning experience for students.

Your main duties are to attend the Student Parliament and Representation Project Team, ensure that Riverside students are fairly represented, build a stronger students’ association at our Riverside Campus and to ensure students have up-to-date information and news about their college
