Glasgow Tool Library

Glasgow Tool Library logo

GTL promotes sharing, collaboration, and learning as forms of resistance, empowerment, and resilience.

By creating a communal resource and community-run library we aim to challenge unsustainable relationships between use and ownership, promoting a more collaborative economy and society. Our aim is to bring communities together through the act of sharing by providing people with the tools they need to improve the objects, spaces, and places that matter to them.

  • Tool Librarian

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

The role provides an opportunity to support The Glasgow Tool Library with its core activities: sorting and cataloging, repairing and maintaining, and service delivery - sharing tools with our members and advising people with their projects.

Librarians are responsible for opening the library service (Saturdays 11 - 1, Wednesdays 5 - 7), using our library software to check for reservations and returns, engaging with our existing members and potential members when they visit the library, singing up new members, and lending tools.
