  • Professional Forum Administration Volunteer

    We provide vital?services?through our Hospital to Home Framework to support people and their families who are living with the effects of chest and heart conditions, long covid and stroke. Our services are focused on providing seamless support for people to make the transition from event / diagnosis or exacerbation of their condition to being able to manage the long term physical, emotional and practical impact of their condition in the community. These services include community support services, specialist nurses, community groups, advice and information, education and peer supportIt’s a great opportunity to part of a group of professional Stroke Nurses and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) from across Scotland who input into stroke policy, strategy, Scottish government work as well as the third sector.You will also have the opportunity to attend the conferences ran by both forums and have the satisfaction of knowing you are making a valuable contribution to the awareness of CHSS.As a Professional Forum Volunteer you will provide vital support to both the Scottish Stroke Nurse and Scottish Stroke Allied Health Professional (AHP) forums. You will do this by supporting the administration and running of quarterly online meetings and an annual conference for both forums.

    Your role will include:

    • Attend quarterly meetings online with both groups.
    • Take notes and send out actions to the members of the groups.
    • Develop the agenda and send out invites prior to meetings.
    • Send out relevant communications on behalf of chair of the groups.
    • Provide administration support in the lead up to both conferences.
    • Keep membership distribution list up to date.

     

    Opportunity takes place Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

  • Collection Can Volunteer

    This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

    Being a Collection Can Volunteer is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading health charity and make a real difference to the people we support. As a CHSS Collecting Can Volunteer, you will play a key role in sourcing new collecting can sites, helping to raise awareness and vital funds to ensure Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland continues to support people who are living with effects of stroke, chest and heart conditions in Scotland.

    Your role will include:

    • Placing CHSS charity collection cans in shops, local businesses, and community venues.
    • Regularly revisiting the sites where you have placed the collecting can, emptying the can and supporting the site holder with any queries or concerns.
    • Counting, banking and recording the income from your collecting cans.

    Volunteering as Collecting Can Volunteer is very flexible and can be done in your own time.

    Travel details: You will be based from home, but will need you to be able to travel within a local postcode area – you and your volunteer line manager will jointly agree on the area you will cover.
    Minimum age: 18
