About Glasgow
Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and the third largest in the UK. It is also the creative capital of Europe and in recent years has held the Commonwealth Games, World Championship Gymnastics, European Cycling Championships and the World Pipe Band Championships. Glasgow is also home to big music venues such as the Glasgow Hydro which hosts national and international music mega stars, as well as local festivals, global entertainment and sporting events.
Many College and University students call Glasgow home. There is no shortage of fun activities to take part in, from crazy golf, trampolining and a lively nightlife. It’s a multicultural, friendly city, with plenty of music, food, film and comedy festivals. City life will also keep you busy, there are fantastic museums, art galleries and public parks, as well as some great places to eat.
Glasgow is also a conveniently short distance from some of the most beautiful countryside in the United Kingdom. Within an hour you can travel to the highlands to some of the most remote and picturesque landscapes in the world; where there are opportunities to ski, snowboard and bag a Munro mountain. If you fancy venturing further south, destinations such as the Lake District or London are also accessible via national transport.
