Welcome to Glasgow! This page is for anyone new to the city: here you can find information and resources to help you settle into your new home as well as into College life.

Help with housing, food and costs

Citizens’ Advice and Shelter are excellent sources of advice and support for housing issues and renters’ rights.

Click here for a list of practical resources within and outwith the College, to support you with food insecurity and the Cost of Living.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, contact a Student Advisor directly to check your eligibility for the College’s Hardship Fund: studentadvisors@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk

Clubs and Networks at College

Our Sports clubs and Societies will be running New to Glasgow taster sessions all through the year. If you are keen to try out a sport or society, but not so keen to attend alone, come along 30 minutes before the start time to meet the club leaders and get to know others new to the city before the main session, with no pressure to stay!

You can also attend tasters especially for LGBTQ+ students, disabled students, mature students and International students.

College should be a safe, fun and inclusive environment for all. If you or someone you know has experienced any form of harassment, discrimination or hate you can use the college’s Report and Support system.

For more information, you can access the college’s policy on Student Bullying and Harassment here.
