ℹ️ What is the Gender Affirming Grant?

The grant aims to reduce the physical, mental, and financial barriers caused by gender dysphoria. This discomfort can significantly impact a student's well-being and their ability to participate fully in college life. Many affirming items remain financially out of reach for students.

Successful applicants may receive up to £40 in vouchers from their chosen site.

❓ What can the Grant be used for?

This covers items such as packers, wigs, makeup, shapewear, breast forms, chest padding, and swimwear. If you need something not listed, please get in touch.

Please note:

  • You must provide a reason for claiming each item.
  • Excessive costs (e.g., custom products) are generally not covered.
  • We do not fund medical treatments, hormone therapy, or private surgery/counseling.
  • Medical Advice: If purchasing binders/compression garments, we strongly advise seeking medical advice due to long-term health risks. Learn more here.

🙋‍♀️ Who can apply?

  • Currently registered City of Glasgow College students.
  • Those identifying as *trans, non-binary, intersex, or gender diverse.
  • Applicants must be aged 18+.

*This includes anyone whose gender identity differs from the gender assigned at birth (trans women/men, genderqueer, agender, etc.).
