The deadline to register to vote is 23:59 on Monday 20th April 2026.

If you are 14 or over with a Scottish address, you are able to register to vote. You need to be registered before you can vote in the upcoming Scottish Parliament elections taking place on Thursday 7th May.

Students can be registered to vote at more than one address if they consider both places to be a permanent home. You will need to provide your name, date of birth, your nationality, and national insurance number. 

The decisions made in the Scottish Parliament affect students, including funding, housing, jobs and more. Voting is one of the most powerful ways to make your voice heard.
