I’m Bernie and I’m running to be your Student President. I have valuable experience as Class Rep and Vice President for Learning and Teaching. I have developed great connections in and out of the college and I will continue to be the voice for COGC students. Last year saw some great successes with the class rep system and student parliament and I hope to continue this.

2020 forced our college to rethink how they do things, now more than ever it is clear how important YOUR student voice is to improve YOUR experience.

Students have provided fresh and creative ideas to improve their learning and social experience. As a care experienced student, I am aware that some students can go unheard so I will continue to encourage ALL students to share their ideas. Every student should have the opportunity to contribute and influence positive change within the college.

• I want to improve employer connections to provide students with more opportunities to put their skills into practice and find a career.
• I will fight for continued support for all students regarding funding, wellbeing, resources and education.
• Students need a president who is not afraid to speak up and challenge existing systems that do not suit the needs of the modern student.
• As president I promise to always make your voice heard and to keep the issues affecting students at the forefront of everything we do.
• I will be open and honest about what is achievable and keep students involved and informed.
