United in diversity!

Hello! My name is Simona and I am a visual artist from Bulgaria. My art is channelled from my peaceful and happy state and it’s inspired by love, women and nature. I am a Product Design graduate, currently studying HND Graphic Design. I am a feminist and LGBTQ+ ally who is a strong advocate for equality, actively involved in these movements and is always striving to learn more. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring new places and being physically active.

As Vice President for Diversity and Wellbeing, I will ensure that every student’s voice is heard, and I will continue making the campus a supportive space for everyone where we can celebrate our most true selves. I believe I will be a perfect fit to the role as I am very approachable, compassionate and an easy-going person.

If elected, my main priority for the term is to create a campaign which supports students in their academic life after Covid-19 restrictions end. As we all know, the pandemic affected many of us and coming out of the quarantine could be scary and tricky. With this campaign, I want to spread kindness and awareness about some of the concerns Covid-19 created. I believe opening up these types of conversation will help us to be more mindful and understanding when communicating and working with other students. I believe this will help new students to feel part of the remarkable City of Glasgow community and make the best of their college years.
