Candidate for the position of Student President

Zahra Khan

Who can? Zahra Khan. | Follow me during the election and have your say .

I am here once again asking for your vote!

Hi, i'm Zahra Khan, I have been a part of the Student Parliament for two years, first as Equalities Officer and then VP for Diversity and Wellbeing. In this time I have campaigned, protested, worked towards the completion of the Student Mental Health Agreement, hosted focus groups and events on campus and supported students in my role in CitySA.

As Student President, I will champion the needs of the students and make your voice heard.

If you vote for me I will:

  • Ensure monthly events on Campus,

  • Co-ordinating the Presidential team,

  • More work experience and volunteer opportunities for students outwith college,

  • Events with other colleges and local universities,

  • Cross society collaborations,

  • Engaging Society events,

  • LGBTQIA2+ Awareness,

  • Consistent mental health, yoga and mindfulness sessions to help support student wellbeing.

  • Better communication from the lecturers and COGC.

My experience of CitySA means I now know that these things are entirely achievable, I understand how we can get the support we need and the logistics of doing these things.

This year my main focus was the Student Mental Health Agreement.

This is a document outlining the needs of the students to ensure City Of Glasgow College is supporting a positive mental wellbeing enviroment.

Once the Principle signs this it lays out exactly what students asked for and what we will recieve.

Next year I want to make sure we have an exciting time on campus.

It's time to...
