Studying sports coaching has seen my leadership skills develop through coaching and presenting work for class projects.
A very observant person I am good at reading body language and adapt my communication skills accordingly. I have represented young people as a member of the Scottish Youth Parliament (MSYP) as a representative for Cumbernauld and Kilsyth, where I was elected to be convener of Sport & Leisure committee. I was also a member of the UK Youth parliament (MYP)
I also volunteer for the North Lanarkshire Young Peoples Sport panel as well as volunteering my services for Girls Guides, play schemes and active schools.
I am an outgoing person who is approachable, understanding and communicative which helps not only with my role at college but in the various experiences I have had through my roles within the Scottish Parliament and Scottish youth councils.
I am a very professional person and would make it my job to try and engage with students through a whole lot of initiatives, including underpinning the existing clubs at present as well as put forward some proposals of my own to not only engage students but to try and make the student experience better.
I will make it my mission to make sure the president is supported at all times as well as be an active voice in making sure that the students are heard not only locally but nationally.
