Inclusion creates Positivity!
Social and Community connections enforce diversity to be respected and valued giving us ALL a sense of belonging.
WE ALL DESERVE TO BELONG.
As someone who wants the world to be a kinder place, I believe in the importance of running as a candidate for Student Vice President of Diversity and Wellbeing.
As someone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community and suffers from mental health issues such as Anxiety and Depression, I believe it is powerful to have someone that will represent the interests of as many people as possible in this role, while ensuring everyone feels included and heard at City College.
The role of Diversity and Wellbeing is so important to our community and me. I would ensure that students wellbeing, and diversity is being protected by the college, staff, and students as a whole. This includes ensuring I work with other Vice Presidents to create opportunities for students to help champion these issues.
City College has an amazing Student support team which provides amazing resources and support alongside lecturers to tailor student led learning plans, this shows a commitment about wellbeing already. I would like to develop upon this to aim in creating more help and support for students suffering specifically from Mental Health issues by working for all students who live across Scotland to get involved in supporting one another. I will also ensure students know they have someone who listens to them and can raise any issues relating to diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing.
I will take this role extremely seriously and I am committed to defending Diversity and Wellbeing for all students in a humane way.
