Hello, you may previously recognise me from running for the position of VP Diversity and Wellbeing. Despite coming in second place, I learned a lot and wanted to continue to fight to be a voice in our college. This is important at both the faculty level and in the student association. I study Social Sciences (Politics and History) working to gain a Diploma of Higher Education.
I believe all students have been affected by strike action, but I understand that those within the faculty of Education and Humanities have faced high levels of disruption compared to other departments. I want to make sure lecturers understand our support for industrial action whilst looking out for the wellbeing and support of students.
My key aims are to:
- Be a voice for all students in the faculty.
- Support all students through email or face to face who need help, advice, and support.
- Take on the responsibility of my role seriously and to the highest level.
- Ensure all courses in the faculty have representation, a voice, and improvements that put students at the focus of teaching and learning.
- Ensure we work with lecturers, management, and the union on all matters on behalf of students. Focusing on students needing support with communication between lecturers on ways to manage and complete coursework missed due to industrial action.
- Work with the student parliament keeping students up to date with important information, decisions, and support.
