Greetings, I'm Bright Tafirenyika. I am 16 years old, enrolled in HNC legal services, and the class representative for HNC 1A (the best legal services class). I am a person of color who never gives up in the fight for justice. I am aware of the mental toll that systematic racial abuse from the police, the teacher, and the general public can have on a person because I have experienced it in the past. I am aware that despite your flawless English and British accent and your respect for their cultures, you might still be viewed as beneath them and subjected to racial abuse. I've been subjected to nearly every type of racial abuse, and as a result .I understand that there are still imperfections in the world and that as long as you are perceived as different, you will inevitably face discrimination. However, I want those who experience racial abuse to reflect back on City of Glasgow College as the most inclusive and fair institution they have ever been to, where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed and follow their chosen career path, regardless of race.
