Candidate for the position of Hospitality & Leisure Faculty Rep

Charlie Cannon

Hi, I’m Charlie Cannon.

I’ve been working in the hospitality industry for almost nine years now, in many different sectors, this gives me a lot of first-hand experience with the highs and lows of working within this industry and grants me a unique perspective to the different courses within the faculty.

I was elected as class rep because my peers believed I was the correct person to voice their concerns, but I’ve realised after speaking to people in other classes that these issues are affecting not just our course but span across the entire hospitality & leisure department, hence why I’ve decided to run for faculty rep.

If I’m elected the main issues I’d like to focus on are the lack of resources and equipment in classrooms, but more importantly the lack of accessibility and learning support for students who are struggling with the computing side of things, as not everyone would’ve learned this in school.

I’m a very compassionate and driven person which is why I think I’d make a great faculty rep as I’d fight to make your college experience as easy and accessible as it should be.

Because hospitality is complicated enough.
