Candidate for the position of Vice President Learning & Teaching

Bryan Smetherhem

My name is Bryan Smetherhem and I would like to be nominated for the role of Vice President for Teaching & Learning

My initial aim is to raise awareness of our student association and all of the organisations, societies and volunteering opportunities available to the individuals at the City of Glasgow College. I hope to work closely with Staff, Students and Alumni by using all forms of social media to promote said opportunities.

A mature student that approaches you to resolve your issues instead of vice versa

I want to be remembered as a student who pursued the wishes of the students and accomplished many great things. I will be willing to do anything within my power to achieve this as the students are my main concern.

To feel safe and comfortable regardless of Age, Race, Religion, Gender and Sexual Orientation

As vice president, I would bring honesty, commitment and creativity to the role along with a strong work ethic and a positive mental attitude. Over the next year I want to see more power in the hands of students, and this will be an underlying objective of any changes that I make over my term.

My final aim is to increase communication between the Students Association and the students to try and provide everyone with regular updates on what the Student’s Association is doing to improve the experience of all students.

Thank you for reading my manifesto
