Hey!

I'm Ricky, and I am studying an HND in Architectural Technology with Digital Construction. I am originally from Ecuador, and after living in a few countries I am happy to call Scotland home. I am genderfluid and also a drag artist and vogue dancer, known as Kiki.

As a performer, I have created safe spaces for queer POC audiences at my own events, and I hope to help everyone feel at home in our college too, I will always stand up with you. As a queer student in a course where sometimes I can feel as an outcast I know how important it is to your own student experience to feel included, and I hope we all can achieve that. As a latin person, I also want to make sure everyone feels safe to express and celebrate their heritage and culture at any time, as well as connecting with others to enjoy the beauty in the diversity in our college. 

I have personally struggled with mental health in the past due to my gender identity, adding extra stress to my student life, so I know how hard it can be to just ask for help, let alone work on yourself. I want to make sure all students get access to the support they need during hard times and break down stigma about mental health issues. Also just making sure all students are having an enjoyable time, something as simple as a lunch with friends can change your whole day!
