Let Mel Flourish

Manifesto

My name is Mel and I am running for the role of Vice President for learning and teaching. This role is something I feel very passionate about as learning is really the point of college when it comes down to it! I have a lot of experience as I have previously worked as a student vice present at south Lanarkshire College for two years and absolutely loved every minute of it. I am a people person who loves to help make students life easier as it’s tough for most. I am a very approachable person and I am not shy about speaking up on behalf of people who need support. I get on very well with all kinds of people, both lecturers and students and have good communication skills when putting issues forward. As VP, I would do my best to support the work life balance of staff and also of students who are juggling college studies with part time work. I currently am a class rep for level 5 hairdressing and I can see how the system is working and getting things changed and it’s something I would like to be a part of more and continue making the system more effective for students and staff. Overall my goal is for every student and staff member know who I am, what I do and where to find me if they need me.
