Men's Football

Our men's football team compete in British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) Division 5. Our men's team have had varying success over the years, with some of our highlights including winning BUCA 5A in 2017 - 2018, gaining promotion and subsequently being the first ever college team in history to compete in Division 4 in 2018 - 2019.

Alan Simpson has been the head coach of the men's football team for a number of years now and has guided the team to some impressive wins against other colleges and universities in the league and cup competitions.  Outwith this, Alan has had a number of different previous experiences coaching and playing football and currently works at the City of Glasgow College as a Sports Coaching Lecturer.  

If you wish to get involved, please be advised we are currently at maximum capacity with 25 overall players in the squad, however, if you email Andrew.Kirk@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk with your name, playing position and previous experiences within club football, he will get back to you to advise on the possibility of trying out for the team.  This is not guranteed and your application will be considered within 7 working days of your email.

We will also have opportunities for women's footballers to engage in competitive activity via the Scottish Student Sport (SSS) College Cup around April.  This will involve running some training sessions, playing a friendly match and then competing in a 7-aside tournament.

You will be able to find out fixture dates by joining the 'BUCS play' app, creating an account and joining 'BUCS Football 23 - 24' then 'City of Glasgow College men's 1s'.
