The resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement this year is a reminder to us all that racial injustice is still prevalent in our society and we each need to do what we can to educate ourselves on these issues.

We have been following the Black Lives Matter movement closely and in the run up to World Mental Health Day (10th October), we have been discussing how racism impacts on Mental Health. The Black Lives Matter Movement highlighted that the challenges faced by those belonging to the BAME (Black Asian or Ethnic Minority Community) can contribute significantly to wellbeing. From Monday 12th October, we will be launching a  short quiz which aims to challenge and inform your understanding of these issues. All City of Glasgow College students who complete the quiz will be entered into our prize draw to win a hamper of goodies from black owned businesses around the UK.

We've also asked students and staff for their recommendations on black films, books and videos. Every Monday, we will update our recommendations with our weekly latest book, film and video here
