About the role

Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire is seeking volunteers to support families with young children.

As a leading family support charity, we have years of experience helping families navigate challenges like illness, postnatal depression, and isolation. Our volunteers, who are often parents themselves, provide essential emotional and practical support to families with children under five.

Volunteer with us and make a difference

We are looking for individuals with parenting experience or experience working with families. As a volunteer, you'll be matched with a family to provide 2-3 hours of weekly support, which can include:

• Providing a listening ear and friendship.

• Helping families build confidence and a support network.

• Assisting with activities, from playtime to household tasks.

No special qualifications are needed, but all volunteers receive a free five-session training course to prepare them for the role. This training covers topics like child development, well-being, and community resources.
