Local Charities Spotlight

Our focus this December has been on Christmas Connections, and how charities and community can change our lives in little ways - in spite of the coronavirus this year.

Our Charities Officer Kieran wants to shine a spotlight on some of the great local charities in Glasgow that make a difference to the local community. Here are some of Kieran’s recommendations.

Starter Pack

Starter Packs are a charity based in Govan whose goal is to eliminate poverty across Glasgow. They help people who have their first home or are just coming out of being homeless, and help them by giving them household essentials.

Glasgow Association for Mental Health (GAMH)

GAMH help promote good mental health and wellbeing and offer over 2000 hours of community work each week. Due to current times it is more important than ever to help promote charities that offer help with mental health and wellbeing.

Simon Community Scotland

This charity helps adults and young people in Scotland who are sleeping rough and are homeless. They help these people with housing and to help them sleep a little better.

While you're here, check out our top recommendations for the month of December, including some fantastic charitable gift ideas!
