  • Volunteer Delivery Helper

This opportunity takes place between 04 May 2023 and 31 Dec 2024

Delivery helpers work in teams delivering the grocery shopping that has been compiled by our shopping volunteers to older people in the community.

Delivery teams come to the office at approx. 9.30am for a quick brief and then head to the supermarkets to collect the orders for their run. (you do not need to be a driver) but if you are you could drive one of our vans if you wish.

Volunteer to go out on deliveries with another volunteer in the van. There could be anything from 10-14 deliveries on thei van taking anything from 3-5 hours depending on location etc.

Delivery volunteers enter members’ homes, unpack the groceries, put them away if needed.

Deliveries can be physical and will involve volunteers carrying boxes of groceries from the delivery van into members’ homes which may be up several flights of stairs.

We would advise volunteers to wear comfortable clothing when undertaking deliveries and bring a rain jacket with them.

This opportunity is available at all of our branches, which include: Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Stirling, West Lothian, Falkirk, Dundee, Scottish Borders and Dumfries.

This is a very flexible volunteering opportunity; volunteers can pick what days they wish to volunteer from week to week.
